An away win at Carlisle would have been a pretty big upset so to start bemoaning the loss and looking forward to next Septembers JPT draw bemuses me. We needed a very lucky draw to get to the semis which we did not get, and im glad to say we didnt as we would have been beaten soundly by Lxxds home and very very soundly away. Regarding home support, the fact of the matter is that with the cheap tickets at VP come cheap fans, most of which do not appreciate the circumstances or recent history of the club and simply expect 3 points week in week out because we are playing in the 4th Div against teams with no history or tradition (to the uneducated football fan that is) in a big stadium with a good (quantity only) support. Thankfully i live darn sarf so only get to away games where the support is top notch (barring Crewe a few years ago) so avoid the usual booing, and sit at the rear upper far far corner of the kop when at home matches where nobody dare tread. To talk of conspiricy between referees against BCFC due to SM's attitude even defies my current drunken state.

Hey ho. When you look at the amount of chances we create etc it does highlight how much we miss Thorne. Ok he doesnt do a great deal but he can finish.

Hopefully will get up North over christmas to see a few games so I can judge for myself. Other than that I will rely on this excellent website, and by the comments above (and in the past),intelligent and informed readers.

Gutted, the players have done extremely well considering some of the players were playing in the unibond league. The ref spoiled the game for me, and so close to a chance to play Leeds and maybe on telly, but next year's our year, come on city.

That's life Damien!

The Pulse team said Carlisle deserved to win overall as they took their chances - we did not, that is what wins games and brings rewards.

You’ve got to feel for Stuart, he’s had a season’s bad luck in only two games. Mr A. Bates would have given Drewe Broughton three red cards and the death penalty if he’d of been in charge against Rotherham.

Anyone to comment that City played poor is totally out of touch. You can easily identify comments from supports who made the trip compared to those who didn’t.

We were against a team in the division above (although you couldn’t tell) and down to ten men with most of the game remaining. It was only a matter of time until Carlisle outworked City. I felt tired just watching Evans, Neilson and our midfield chase the ball around the pitch. Despite the fact that Evans is out of form, his work rate has never dropped below 110%. Do the message board hoodlums want Bobby Petta back?

To echo what Damian has said - I went on the T&A site today & was astounded to read comments from people who clearly weren't at the game and probably hadn't even listened on the radio pronouncing that it was all over for SM and WJ...!!
I made the trip up the M6 last night and whilst disappointed that we had lost, I was not downhearted - as Jason says in his report, we played pretty well, even with 10 men and in the first 20 minutes of the second half, I could only see 1 team scoring and they weren't in blue. In fact, I reckon their 2nd goal was their 1st shot on target in the 2nd half?!
As Joanne says, the support was superb and although I wouldn't have risked Omar for the last 20 minutes, I couldn't really fault SM or the players for their commitment last night.
Apart from the Rochdale game (I missed Notts County away), I haven't really seen a poor performance this season - but if you relied on the official message-board or the T&A, you'd think we were doomed, playing atrocious football?!!
If we can keep that level of effort going into the league programme, who knows where we could end up, especially with a bit more luck in front of goal - how did we not score last night?!!
Come on you Bantams!

I am really going to have to stop going on the official messageboard and the T&A. The comments frustrate me so much. I managed to listen on the radio, albeit Carlisle commentators and they were praising Bradford no-end. At the same time I was reading about us playing rubbish, Evans and Rehman were poor etc etc. By the sounds of it we battled hard and put everything in but this contradicted with so many comments.

Instead of sacking McCall is there any way of sacking some of our "supporters"? or at least educating them about football. I would love to watch some of them play football at five aside or at their workplace, and shout sh*t everytime they picked up a pen or did something wrong, even if I was in another room and couldnt actually see them doing it.

Good team performance last night and the scoreline flatters Carlisle. Excellent away support as usual.
I was a bit annoyed by Greg Abbott when he said on BBC Radio Cumbria that his team were far better and should have won more comfortably. The bit where he said the sending off didn't change the game wasn't right - off course it did and with the referee's hastiness in pulling out his red card early in the game it meant an unlevel playing field. I felt it unfair for the supporters as it cost us (and them) the chance of a more entertaining evenly matched semi final.

Greg Abbott said Ramsden had to go as he tugged back the Carlisle player - which did sound from the radio coverage rather a foolish thing to do at that stage - soon after the first goal went in and despite what sounded like 100% effort again, we lost the game and a chance of a big pay day against Leeds United - for the club itself that must be the biggest agony as the other games and last nights will not have been that financially rewarding.

We now move on and hope that we pick up points through Christmas - if not then the mutterings of discontent will grow.
