On-loan Carlisle striker Jason Price looks set to remain at Valley Parade until January. The 33-year-old, who’s initial one month deal expires after Saturday’s home game with Macclesfield, has already expressed his desire to stay and Peter Taylor’s talks with his Carlisle counterpart Greg Abbott suggest the loan will be extended. A firm decision from Abbott won’t be made until after the weekend.

The catalyst for Price’s arrival was Leeds United striker Mike Grella agreeing a temporary move to Brunton Park – after rejecting City – in October. Grella has seemingly made a decent impact, netting twice in six games, and earlier this week his initial one-month loan was extended until the New Year. Who knows, if Leeds manager Simon Grayson decides to sell the American and Carlisle can afford him, Price could then make his City move permanent in January.

Price is yet to score for City, but his all-round performances have been excellent. He has done a great job linking up with Omar Daley and shows strong awareness in bringing other people into play. With James Hanson still troubled by a minor injury, Price’s presence has been invaluable in sharing the workload during a demanding set of fixtures.
