I've liked the ideas that John talks about ever since. However, if we can achieve that sort of detail on the opponents can't we produce the same sort of detail on our own performance? We have covered this type of analysis before I know. But I am still wanting to be convinced that we assess the individual performances of our players in an 'objective' way as a means of being able to measure whether their performances are improving or deteriorating. I am not suggesting the subjective opinion of the manager should be over-ruled by objective evidence just that his opinions and player selection could be based on much more solid foundations than what he THINKS he has seen.
